Lovely Short-Scale Vintage Japanese Zenta Telecaster Bass electric guitar Early 1970s MIJ With a 29 ¾ Scale, this bass is a handy little go-to. It will offer up that classic vintage vibe without breaking the bank. Its not as light as it looks.

I imagine that, under the road-worn vintage cream paint, the body is laminate wood. The action is actually decent on this bass.

Ive had a few and most tend to be on the high side but this one is good. The maple neck is in decent condition and has a truss rod, so theres some life in this guitar yet. In the early 1970s (and the late 1960s), the Japanese factories were churning out relatively inexpensive guitars for the masses. Zenta was one of those brands.

Most of them didnt survive, but this shortie has. Thats probably because someone has loved it and looked after it. Despite the road-worn knocks and scratches, it all still works. Dont expect the volume and tone of a P-Bass. The tone is a bit all or nothing.

The two selectable switches work too. Ive just given the pots and switches a bit of a clean and they are currently scratch-free. Condition : It all works and the neck is good. Low action currently set up.

The maple fingerboard and frets are decent with minimal wear. Theres a small bit out of the top of the headstock (shown in the pictures). The body has scratches and wear all over. The first fret seems to be discoloured. Its probably from when someone replaced the nut and was a bit careless with the glue. The neck pocket as the usual pair of lacquer cracks but the neck is secured with 6 screws, so its fine. Overall, this is a good little vintage bass with the original tuners, electrics, thumb rest and bridge cover. Its unusual to find one with the bridge cover in particular. The guitar will be carefully packed and will be send with a reputable carrier with tracking.
