Up for sale, a 1980 Ibanez Musician ST-924WN electric bass in excellent condition and perfect working order. Made in the now legendary FujiGen Gakki factory in Japan, the body utilizes a maple core, with a three-piece walnut top, and mahogany wings paired with a three-piece maple neck.

Weighing in at a stout 10lbs 7oz, this bass has a healthy amount of the natural sustain and punch one normally associates with a hefty instrument. The pickups offer a rich, detailed sound with broad thump and smooth growl in the top end.

Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-105 roundwound strings, this bass plays well with low action and solid intonation. The neck has a D profile shape at the nut, with more shoulder and roundness up the neck, measuring. 840 deep at the 1st fret and. The slab rosewood fretboard sports Mexican abalone position markers and the original 24 medium jumbo frets which are in fantastic shape, showing virtually no wear with well-rounded crowns. The scale length is 34" and the 1 5/8" wide nut is a combination of a thin sliver of brass paired with bone, combining the tonal properties of these two regarded nut materials.

On the headstock, the original VelveTune-BII die cast tuning machines turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The D tuner shaft is missing one spline, but still functions well. The routes for the additional factory controls have been cleanly plugged, and the pickups operate passively. The bass shows light patina on the bridge base and and saddles, and the knobs are replacements. Cosmetic wear includes faint palm and forearm wear through the very top of the clear coat on the bass side of the instruments face, with a few lighter scuffs adjacent to the knobs.

There is light buckle rash on the back and a few small dings around the body edges, while the neck profile is silky smooth and very clean. The original hardshell case is included.
