Up for sale, a 1998 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay 4 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. The flagship of the Music Man line, today's StingRay is the same as it was some forty years ago, featuring roadworthy construction, massive hardened steel bridge, elegant oval pickguard, 3+1 tuning key configuration, and the ever popular Music Man humbucker. Governed by an active 3-band EQ, the alnico humbucker offers a range of tones from punchy and articulate with rich growl to thick, round thump. The bass weighs 9lbs 11oz and has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation. The maple neck has a f. Airly slender C shape with a bit more shoulder and roundness as you travel up the fretboard. Featuring the perfect balance of comfort, speed, and stability.

Finished with gunstock oil and a hand-rubbed special wax blend, the back of the StingRay's neck has a notably smooth, effortless feel. And with its six-bolt attachment, this neck delivers stability that easily surpasses most set necks.

On the 11 radius fretboard, the original medium jumbo fretwire retains its full factory height, showing only light wear beneath the E and A strings on frets 1-4, with virtually no wear further up the fretboard. The nut measures 1 5/8 in width, and the headstock retains the original chrome tuning machines.

The chrome hardware has plenty of shine, and all of the electronics work as intended, with a Master Volume knob in addition to the 3-band active EQ circuit. Cosmetic wear is limited to a. Few faint scuffs on the treble side of the pickguard, and the gloss black finish is near mint.
