The serial number is R6003 and the body is dated April 18th 1997 - the John Cruz stamped neck dates to October 21st, 1997 and there's a small chip in the neck pocket. This early Custom Shop bass is one of the original Cunetto Relics, with a tastefully executed, masterfully aged Fiesta Red nitro lacquer finish. One of purportedly less than 200 Relic basses produced in the Cunetto era, this bass features a vintage-spec custom color finish in the years before Fender had done their forensic research and reissued all of their classic custom colors. Thankfully, Cunetto had already done the legwork, perfectly matching the original DuPont Fiesta Red lacquer of Fender's golden era of production.A brief moment at the genesis of the Relic concept, the Cunetto Relics were actually finished and relic'd at Cunetto's satellite shop in Springfield, MO before being sent back to Fender in Corona, CA for final assembly. She weighs 9.1 lbs.
