Fender 1997 Cunetto/John Cruz Relic Jazz Bass. Fender 1997 Cunetto Relic Jazz Bass. This bass will bring a smile to any player - a perfect playing and sounding instrument IMO. Has 95 pots and a 96 neck - all original - relicing by Cunetto (cert date Jan1997). Has the famous Cunetto trade mark custom shop indented stamp at the back of the neck with heavy relicing to the three tone sunburst body.
The machine heads are reverse as per an original early 60`s Jazz. The certificate is incorrect (in detail) but the same as all the Cunetto Jazz Bass`s I have seen from that period. The certificate is marked 1960 - but really this would be something like a 63 reissue.For some reason I can only imagine that Fender did this on purpose as I have seen others with the same cert. Unless this is trying to be a pre production model before March 1960. It is a stunning bass to play and these Cunetto`s are becoming very rare. Comes with original style tan case which is no way mint (and a bit worn) - but the bass seems to have very little wear (other than the original relic status).
John Cruz`s name is stamped on the neck just under the Fender Custom Shop stamp. The goods are the buyers responsibility until they arrive back to us.
