Hofner Galaxie HCT Bass Short Scale. Perfect upgrade from a violin bass! This listing is for my Höfner bass. It's a red/orange colour with a high quality short scale neck and is in wonderful condition, with only a couple of very minor dents and dings. I bought this bass as an upgrade to a Höfner violin bass - these reissued galaxies have much better intonation and tuning stability due to the high quality bridge, so you get the feel and much of the sound of a violin bass, but with a more robust and professional instrument.

It's been set up by a luthier with flatwound strings for that silky playing feel and deep thumpy sound. Has a slim neck but not quite as slim as a regular violin type.

I don't believe Höfner are making solid body guitars like this any more, as this is a reissue of a style of bass they made in the 60s.
