FOR 31 YEARS WE ARE FLORIDA'S OLDEST VINTAGE GUITAR SHOP! 1969 Rickenbacker 4001 "Mono" Bass a stunner example of their Top of the Line!
The Rickenbacker 4001 Bass was a whirlwind design when new w/its crested wave body style back in 1961. This "Mono" example was one of the final of its type (all were stereo after this period) having an IB code dating to February 1969. It is a very rare bass being 1 of less than 90 made that year & a very well restored example done by Rickenbacker expert Dale Fortune to original specs from many years ago. Its Fireglo finish is actually better than the factory applied when new & has a depth like none I've seen. Its famous "Checkerboard" bound body is stunning & compliments it perfectly. Its "Crushed" Pearl inlaid fingerboard still glistens & feels delicious. Its maple neck-thru body is wide & flat w/its famous large size headstock w/mahogany wings w/excellent frets. Its white'gard is a perfect reproduction & she still wears her original clear lucite thumb rest & chrome capped knobs. Its old-style open back tuners hold perfectly. Its chrome hardware is still quite clean.
If this were an all original Mono 4001 it could be twice the price. This is a fabulous player & looks simply near perfect, comes in a nice generic hard case. At The Guitar Broker we stock over 200 of the best vintage & collectible guitars in the USA as well as some very unusual classic & modern sports & muscle cars.
