The original nut was badly damaged, and has been replaced with a new bone nut. A previous owner painted the 3 ply scratchplate gloss black who knows why? The lacquer has all flaked off the fingerboard, and chipped along the edges but has been smoothly blended in and now feels really lovely to play. The lacquer chip on the bass side of the neck by the nut is superficial - there is no damage to the wood. The frets have a few divots but there is still plenty of life left in them and it plays great.
The headstock face shows lacquer cracks, and there are several minor paint chips to the body. Period Fender hard case may be original but Im not sure.
