This 1978 Fender Precision Bass (Made in USA), is in extremely well used condition. Recently restored, it's now in perfect working order. This vintage Fender is iconic. With its solid ash body in faded black, a one-piece maple neck and chrome finishes...

It's nothing short of stunning! On the headstock, the original Fender-branded tuners are intact, turning smoothly and holding pitch well.

These tuners retain their original and clean chrome plating, even extending to the large clover buttons. New Fender Custom Shop'62 pickups have been installed to replace the damaged originals also.

The pots are new, as are the "Ashtray" bridge cover, control knobs & pickguard screws. The 70's mirror pickguard is original.

Cosmetically, this guitar has been places!! The S8 serial number on the headstock indicates a'78 build. The body shows modest wear throughout, with an assortment of dings, scuffs, and some checking in the finish.

All in the correct places though and what you'd expect for an almost 50 year old gigged and much loved guitar. The original black finish has faded with age. (The finish is 100% original with no touchup or overspray). The neck has a round and relatively chunky C type profile. It has a small number of lacquer wear indents and knocks, although this doesn't affect playability.

Again, tasteful for the age. The frets still have a few years of life left in them although they are low. The truss rod is strong and treated and the setup is perfect! It sounds incredible, thanks to a freshly fitted set of Rotosound Tru Bass Flatwounds, which finish it off brilliantly. Although I'm a non smoker, as I mentioned above, this guitar has been places.

As the headstock shows, cigarettes have been string mounted whilst users of decades past have been playing, as many players did back in the 70's & 80's. The nicotine stains on the headstock and neck are there to see. I've owned this guitar for four years now and although the smell is starting to fade and no longer overwhelming, it is there. It screams gigs of yesteryear. If anything it actually adds character and stance to this incredible guitar!

It also comes with a new Fender Hardcase to keep it secure & protected.
