The 30 inch-scale 4-string bass is downsized enough to be comfortable to play while still providing a good focused tone that will work in virtually any playing context. While not common, the 30 inch short scale basses have been popular with even pro-level bass players since the 60's due to their ease of playability as well as improved portability. Although not as well known or highly regarded as Alder, Poplar is a fine tonewood that is reminiscent of Alder in sonic character.

Full sounding with strong mids and a firm low-end that's well balanced across the tonal spectrum, Poplar suits a variety of musical genres and playing styles for both electric guitars and basses. The hard maple neck provides strength and stability while delivering a defined and punchy sound that mates well with virtually any type of body and fingerboard woods. Found only on the Action Series basses, the ergonomic body shape, which fuses the best elements of classic and modern designs, was designed to reduce fatigue and enhance playability for extended playing sessions. Precisely manufactured for the utmost in tuning stability and functionality, Cort's die-cast tuners assure that you can play each note with confidence and authority.

The openpore finishes bring out the natural beauty of the woods on the Action PJ while improving the acoustic resonance of the instrument.
