DeArmond Pilot V Active 5 String Bass Guitar Made in Korea

  

Korean made Dearmond Pilot V 5 string bass guitar. From 1999 based on the serial number. A more affordable version of the Guild Pilot bass but these Dearmond basses are great instruments in their own right. Its well made with a solid wood body with black finish, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. I've had a few of these Pilot basses in the past and the pre amps are fairly noisy with some background hiss present when the balance control is turned to one side or the other, when its on the central notch bringing in both pickups together the hiss is much reduced.

This is normal for active basses and once you start playing at any reasonable volume you can't hear it. Its been inspected by our repairman and is just how the active circuitry frequency is on this bass. Its in good used condition, there are small marks and signs of use, some small indents and general signs of use and age. There is a couple of small indents to the fretboard on the first fret as pictured but they don't interfere with playing. There is a small touched in chip on the tip of the headstock.

The plastic controls guide is still present and the thin plastic film is still on the electrics cover on the rear. The strings are new at the time of listing and the bass plays nicely with a reasonable 5 string action. There is some nice grain to the back of the neck.
