The time has come to move this bass on - it doesn't get gigged as much as it used to and has too much cash tied up in it to sit around. Given the rising cost of vintage basses I think someone could get a bargain here and it is priced to sell quickly.

I would consider parting out but would prefer to sell as a whole. You are welcome to meet me in Chessington or Central London to try it. Trades - you can try me but would prefer a sale and I'd mostly likely want quite a lot of cash on top. It's an amazing players bass with a Pre CBS 1963 Body and 1972 Neck. Body: I bought this body from Camden Guitars In London.

It was refinished in Fiesta Red at some point, heavy relic with lots of laquer checking, really nicely done. Bridge is original with one saddle replaced, I have the original. Neck plate original, L Series. Knobs and wiring, non original CTS/Switchcraft. Please note, the control cavity has been slightly enlarged many years ago (before the refinish) which means that one pickguard screw doesn't have wood to screw into.

Other than that it isn't noticeable with the pickguard on. 1972 with lovely U Shape profile, blocks and binding.

Stunning checking on headstock, plays great and truss rod works as it should. Has extra holes in headstock for Hipshot Ultralites but these are covered up by the standard Fender Style Tuners/Gotoh FB30 or similar. String tree and hootenanny button are probably original but impossible to verify! The date stamp is no longer visible. You can just about see the name stamp and this was bought from Vintage Bass Lounge (formerly Bass Monkey) in the UK who will vouch for its authenticity.
