A fantastic bass, made using the kind of higher-grade materials alder for the body, rosewood for thefingerboard that Fender are moving away from with their new guitars at equivalent standard/player ranges in their line-up. Ive played this at various gigs, including supporting The Drums at The Deaf Institute in Manchester, so the sound quality is easily good enough for playing live. At the same time, a lot of our gigs were as teenagers and got sporadic as we got older - so the guitar's not been exposed to a continuous rocknroll lifestyle; it was all, regrettably, very civilized. I stopped for a while but came back to playing bass a few years ago and realised I favoured the sound of the Jazz-bass, Marcus Miller etc.
So I have a Japanese J-bass now that is enough for me. But this is a beautiful P-bass for the price with gorgeous rich tone, particularly at the low end.
I once bought a squire P-bass as an experiment and the difference between the two was night and day - it was just so much more pleasurable to play the Mexican P. Comes with Ernie Ball strings with some decent zing left in them still. IMPORTANT COLLECTION ONLY PLEASE FROM CHESHIRE, UK.
