Fenix 5 String Bass Guitar Recent Refret, Repair, Upgrades And Pro Set Up

  
During those 5 years, I have retrained as a guitar technician. I made a repair to the neck and decided to replace the truss rod, put some carbon inserts in the neck and refret the instrument. I carried out this work recently at the Crimson guitars workshop in Dorset with some expert guidance from the staff there. See pics of fretboard removed, new truss rod inserted and carbon strengthening rods ready to go under the fret board.

Also, pics of my re fret and fret end finishing. Other pics show the original fix and some "players" marks and scratches as well as mirror-finish frets after levelling, dressing and polishing to a very professional standard.

Action is lower than factory spec so is suited to light playing currently. I've set the neck relief almost dead straight to accommodate this. This is easily re-set for different/heavier strings and playing. Current settings - when played lightly - give no buzzes.

Intonation spot on using Peterson bench strobe tuner. Sad to see it go but need to create space and pay some bills before my upcoming recording project. Collection only as no hard case.
