Gibson EB3 1962 Vintage Bass Guitar Cherry Pre Owned Player Grade

  
Vintage 1962 Gibson EB-3 Bass Guitar Cherry. Here we have my Gibson 1962 EB-3. So its player grade and here are the reasons why. Refin , my best conclusion is the bass took some damage to the jack socket as most SG guitars and basses do and when it came to repairing it i think the previous owner had a blow over to smarten it up.

That was a long time ago and the blow over is starting to peel in places of revealing the original paint which had clearly been roughly keyed in before the refinish. As far as i can tell, most of the hardware is original except for the jack socket and one volume pot. The other 3 pots are Gibson centralab pots and the wiring and switchcraft switch looks old.

One customer pointed out that all EB3 had a choke and a rotary switch but i doubt this one did as there doesn't seem to be enough room in the cavity to accommodate this, maybe a custom order? The caps aren't original and look like newer ones. The pickups are original and so are the machine heads are the hardware is original The thumb rest has been moved from the pick guard to its current position. Non original hard shell case. Its a great bass but the paint job clearly lets it down.
