This a very clean example of one of the most covetted Japanese'Ric' bass copies. The premium RB-1000 from 1976 with the "Gneco" logo was the highest spec model from their Ric style range. This particular bass is one of the best quality lawsuit era Greco's we've seen and was picked up from a private collector in Japan a number of years ago. With neck through construction on par with the real deal and the addition of a Maxon "Mudbucker" of Gibson EB fame this version was only offered for a short period. Features include; beautiful checker board binding, one piece neck through construction, black nylon strings, ash tray bridge cover, thumb rest and adjustable felt mute.
This particular model uses a clever grounding system that's different from most of the Greco's I've seen and runs super quiet even with the pickups offset in tone or volume. Both pickups work great and produce a wide variety of sounds as well as that unmistakable'Ric' tone. It is in excellent condition for its age and has been well looked after and maintained in the studio rather than being gigged, the only cosmetic flaws is some discolouration to the binding with a small chip around the 11th fret (I've tried to capture in the pictures). This does not affect the playability at all and the fretboard and binding are solid. There are virtually no dings or scratches and the gloss finish is immaculate.Comes packed securely with the original hard case and case candy.
