Iceni Zoot S4 Left Handed Translucent Brown 2000. Here for sale we have an Iceni Zoot 24 left handed bass in Translucent Brown finish. Made as a custom order in 2000 this bass features a gloss finish body, a matching finish satin neck and inner cutaways, 24 frets, a 34 scale length/40mm nut width, along with a Bartolini MMC triple coil active humbucker, wired to master volume/tone controls, an active/passive toggle switch and a 3-band EQ for the active circuit. The satin neck plays very well, offering a smooth and fluid playing surface, flattening softly in the centre for ergonomic thumb positioning, without being overly flat. The deep cutaways and rolled neck heel give unobstructed access right up to the 24th fret, giving you an incredible register that accommodates any playing style. The Bartolini MMC triple coil humbucker has a thick and chunky tone, offering plenty of tonal flexibility through the 3-band EQ. All of the pots except for the volume have an indent in the centre of the sweep for easily recallable settings, allowing you to both boost and cut frequencies with unity gain in the centre. Overall a very well put together bass, freshly set up with La Bella strings.

Luthier Report by Adam North Guitars. Headstock- Shows light markings to the face, top edge and sides. The satin finish on the rear shows some signs of fading, however this is to be expected due to the nature of the finish and the age of the bass.

The nut has some residue behind it (headstock side), though the nut is secure and fully functional. Neck- In good condition, showing some light markings to the rear with some minor finish fading to the rear.

The fingerboard is in good condition, showing signs of playing wear, which would be expected with a bass of this age. Body- The body is in good condition, with some light scratch markings in various places, namely on the inside of the satin finish cutaways. There is some lacquer cracking around the active/passive toggle switch. The previous owner has scratched some letters and numbers onto the battery compartment, though this is only visible in bright lighting. Shape and condition is very good, with only the lightest playing wear, namely a slight flattening to the top edge of the frets, seemingly from prior fret work. Truss Rod & Bridge- Fully Functional and can be adjusted. Height of the string from the 12th Fret- 2.5mm bass side, 2mm treble side.

Please be aware that the action on a guitar may move slightly in transit and this measurement is the current height. Can be adjusted to the preference of the new owner, however there is not a lot of room to lower the action without resulting in buzzing, this appears to be due to slightly uneven fretwork carried out in the past.

In full working order, please note the lacquer cracking around the active/passive switch. Overall the bass is in very good condition when accounting for its age, it has clearly been played but has been well looked after, with only minor markings.

The bass has been set up with a set of 39-102 La Bella Deep Talkin' strings and is ready for another generation of playing. Comes with a Hiscox hard case which shows only minor aesthetic markings, protecting the bass very well. We are a Manchester based retailer specialising in second hand guitars.
