JACKSON Japan JPB8 electric bass guitar. These were made for around 3 months in 1995, before Marleaux slapped a lawsuit on them for copying their Consat model. They were discontinued immediately and never even made it into the catalogue.
Approximately 1200 JPBs were made (I think there were 700 JPB7s, 400 JPB8s and a handful of JPB9s) and not many of them escaped from Japan in the first place. I have only ever seen 3 of these in the UK, and I own 2 of them, they are almost impossible to find in Europe. This one has a lovely slightly pinky sunburst over a figured top.
Dual soapbars, 2 band centre detent active EQ, lovely feel to the neck, like a comfy Jazz Bass sort of profile, nice and throaty sound, all the rattle and grit you could ever want, and exceptional for the heavier side of things, this nails Death Metal tones perfectly if thats your bag, though its equally at home doing thumpy Marcus Miller kind of stuff. Comes in an SKB style Washburn hard case, fits well and does the job. Please see photos as they will tell you more than I could sit here typing out! Collection PREFERRED from West London, but could post if I can find a suitable box big enough, and that would be about 40 quid in UK only (excluding NI, Highlands and Islands).
