This guitar for sale here also has the slightly more roomy 42mm precision bass neck width. This morning I took it back to my studio and cut the nut string grooves much lower for a super-light finger tip touch, then I heard a light fret rattle on the lower frets but super-clean above the twelfth fret, and found we had zero relief in the neck... Took a tadge of tension off the truss rod and all rings nicely now. As that took the overall action up a bit I took a turn off each bridge saddle adjuster. The whole neck is very well balanced now...

With just the slight fret zing when you dig in hard, a zing that Scott of Scott's bass lessons says he likes to be able to get from a bass. A pure-toned bass with my easy playing set up on bright new strings... And one or two adaptions and additions that I like. There was a plain white scratchplate that I have changed to a classy red tortoise-shell one. I carved the telebass head shape and did the caligraphy before applying coats of spray varnish. As you will see I have re ground the shape of the tuner paddles to a simpler style, and I fanned them out for better separation and a more interesting look.

The set up is still at an initial stage as the strings are un played and will take time to settle in fully... I did an initial cutting of the string grooves in the nut and it plays nicely enough already... The truss rod works perfectly and is the modern double acting type. The bridge end action is okay now and exactly where I like it.

Still might be some more settling in, but it plays nicely already and will only improve with a bit more studio time to get the strings bedded in and some strategic tweaking of truss rod, bridge, and nut action. You honestly will not find better than this at this price! My travel adventure romance novel Virginia to Greece, is out on Amazon now...

As is my cat journey story Bobcat's Big Adventure for animal lovers.
