Tigers Eye Dean Edge Q4 B Bass Guitar (Pre-2008) Very Good/Great Condition

  
This item is a very good condition, pre-2008 (unsure of the exact year) Dean Edge Q4 B Bass Guitar. This was the Higher-End/Upgraded version of the Edge Q4 at the time I bought it and features the active electronic Bertolini Pickups (Neck: BARBB4CB, Bridge: BARBB4D2) that replace Dean's house made humbuckers on the standard models, The Q4 B was only made in this colour and has a beautiful Tigers Eye Quilted Maple top instead of the solid colour quilted tops found on the standard Q4 and it makes it one hell of a looker! The Neck is a Bolt-On, Walnut and Maple construction, and has a Rosewood Fingerboard with Pearloid Inlays. It Is 34" Scale with a 1 and 9/16" Nut, its 4 stringed, has 24 frets, and features all the original Grover tuners and Black Hardware. Personally, I think the neck is one of the thinnest I have played and I really liked that, but its also thick enough to avoid any "bendy" behaviour. It plays fast and has a lovely profile!

The price set was set for the bass and gig bag only really, but when listing it I discovered a strap and cable so ill chuck these in for free? I tried to clean it up, it now looks sparkling. But its also dislodged some of the internal soft protection in the process and I don't think I'll be able to flatten it back out properly without cutting a hole in the bag to do so. As a result, you're welcome to have it free of charge along with the strap and cable! Tone was always really important to me, I'm pretty fussy I think and I wanted something that didn't sound too hard or bright (which is what I remember getting out of a lot of the more standard Dean Basses at the time, and a lot of the other brands too now I think about it).

I wanted something that at one end of the spectrum could do smooth and jazzy, but also wanted to have the ability to make it growl when I wanted it to. This bass nails it honestly, I've not seen a single review where anybody has said anything different! The tigers eye finish on top is immaculate, save for one pin sized spec that I've tried to show in the photo near the tone knobs. The back of the guitar has some very minor fine scratches through general use, mainly from using it standing up and the bass rubbing against belt buckles/buttons I guess? They aren't hugely visible you have to get the light just right to see them, to the point that my camera couldn't pick them up to take a proper picture of them. On one of the edges, nearest the back of the guitar, there is a small chip located about 15cm round anti clockwise from the bottom strap bolt. Everything else is also Immaculate, the neck and inlays, pickups and tone knobs, all show no, or the bare minimum in terms of wear. I've even left the plastic protective sheets over the backs of the machine heads, and the electronics backplate/cover!

To try to protect the bass for as long as I could, so should you remove those, those should be mint too! All of the minor damage described above is cosmetic only, and the bass functions perfectly plugged in or not! I'm unsure whether the battery has any charge left in it however so may need replacing! This bass has been out of production for a while and seems to now be a rarity.
