LISTING: Here i have for sale a original usa made fender precision bass guitar 1972. It is in overall great condition, as it comes upto 50 years nearly, the guitar is sound in construction, and everything works as it should! There is obviously scratches and dings in places as expected for its age but no cracks or breaks, everything is structually sound and solid. Probably took off very early on and packed in case wrapped in a cloth, as you obviously can't palm mute the strings at the saddles with guards in place!
Tuners all work, although a little stiff, probably need lubricated or just general usage again! Overall in great condition with a bit of wearing on the paddle faces!Knobs are showing some signs of wear and a little bit of blister starting on the tops, but work as should. Saddles again showing some signs of age as to be expected, some grub screws more than others! But again work ok and are adjustable. Truss rod works ok and neck is straight, pickups work as expected.
All work as should, but no key! All chrome hardware on case including have signs of wear but function ok! Handle is perfectly functional to lift weight of case safely. The outside of case is tatty and worn, some ripping along edges ect!
And has a few old stickers randomly put on, some of which are actual beer bottle labels, (Newcastle Brown Ale) to be exact. A very popular beverage back in the day. I have had this guitar now for over 20+ years! And it has sat in its case on top of my wardrobe for most of that time, i'm not a bass player myself but have had lead guitars. This guitar was my late uncles, and came to me as i was the only one in the family that had a musical background in guitars ect!
Although not a bass player i have put down a couple of bass lines in the past, especially when i first got the instrument, so can vouch that everything works, i didn't have a bass amp, but just connected straight into a mackie mixer! The guitar will probably want a good setup, and definitely need new strings, although it does play fine to me as is! But i have had the strings off and on again when looking for numbers, so will be knacked, plus been on for years, although not played much at all, only a handful of times. A lot of pictures have been stuck together to show as much as possible, but only limited to 12 pictures, so i decided to crop and edit a few into double and quad pic edits!
Iv'e tried to desaturate the pics a bit in photoshop, to give a better representation of the actual colours! I have reluctantly, but very carefully took the neck off and scratchplate cover to see if i could see any identification markings on the hardwares, because i know people will ask me anyways.
I was also going to flip the pickups over but there was not enough slack on the wires, so would probably have to desolder them, which i don't really want to do! Heres what i found: HEADSTOCK: PAT. NECK BOTTOM FLAT: Stamped in green "K KRAUSFELDT" GUITAR HAS: rosewood fingerboard maple neck Body - Unsure what Species of wood! Tortoise shell pickguard (3-ply) chrome knurled knobs chrome saddle block staggered p90 pickups (i assume) not sure!
Chrome guards, don't think they have been used, excellent condition! Chrome tuners (stamped Fender Logo) Nut - Unsure what material used?
NOTE - Any potential sale will be final after inspecting and testing the instrument, so it is imperative that the guitar is collected. I will NOT post, so please don't ask, requests will be ignored!
