Yamaha BB1100S 1997 Made in Taiwan Original hard case. This is a 97 MIT Yamaha BB1100S, in a slightly sparkled black finish, which is very very hard to photograph properly.
This gives the best of both worlds, with a whole extra range of Active tones available if required. The body is, I believe, Alder, and the 22-fret board is Rosewood. The gloss neck has a 42mm nut, and has a medium feel to it, and the bass weighs a shoulder-friendly 9lbs 1oz on my kitchen scales.
It's in very good condition for a 25-year old bass; it's been played but looked after: there are a few small dings (I've shown the worst of them) and some light hazing (which looks worse on the photos), but this would polish out if that sort of thing bothers you. Tonally and playing-wise, it's excellent; the neck is straight, the trussrod works, and it plays very very well. These were (and are) professional-quality basses, Peter Hook used to play one, and they compare very favourably with Fender P/Js in build quality and tone. The hard case is in good condition and still has the keys to lock it. Collection is acceptable as well.
